Frequently asked questions
Which socks could i use while skating?

Our suggestion comes from the experience. We noticed that in a growing foot, when people fit boots a bit larger they use cotton socks to hold the foot inside the boot. However, when the boot is right to measure then we suggest to use a microfibre sock enveloping the foot, it easily slides inside the shoe with no folds and it dries up quickly.
What it the power wedge? When should i use?

The normal street shoes are designed to follow the anatomic foot profile, sloped at the toe. The ice blade has been designed to follow the foot slope, so there is no use of a power wedge. On the contrary, most of the existing roller frames are completely flat. So when a frame is laid on a shoe it shows a gap. The Power Wedge fills up this empty space. This way, by mounting a frame the boot is not pulled or deformed.
How do i clean my FLY boots?

he upper of the style FLY is build with two materials, a smooth microfibre and a mesh. Both are cleaned with water and normal soap. Microfibre with a sponge and the mesh with a soft brush.
Can i use any kind of ice blades?

Sure. The strong supporting structure has been designed for a safe hold of any kind of blade. The difference from a traditional skating boot is the insole supporting material and its structure. Specifically, the material is a compound of synthetic materials and fibre glass, it does not absorb water, it makes a good insulation and it is antitorsional. The thickness of the sole sandwich is lower that any other, therefore we have designed our own mounting screws, included in each pair of boots.
Why should i use the edea mounting screws? How are they?

The screws included in our boots are specifically designed for mounting the ice blades. They are long enough for the thickness of our sole. They have no tip, so you have first to drill a hole on the sole. The thread is the type hi-lo for better grasp at the material. They are zinc coated and they do not get rusty.
Can i activate the ventilation for ice skating?

Many ice skaters suggest to activate the ventilation as they found out that the inside of the boot gets dry much quicker. In addition, with an air flow the feet do not ‘freeze‘ while skating.
Why is the sole so rounded? Is there room enough for the blade?

We have rounded the external edges of the sole to obtain the maximum side leaning. This is very useful during extreme performances.
Which model should i choose?

Unfortunately, there is no fix answer, as there are several factors that determine the choice of a style:
- physical factors (age, weight, height)
- technical factors (skating level, weekly training hours)
- habits (type, characteristics, strength as so far used boots)
To help you in the choice we are giving suggestions in the page ‘Models‘. In any case your dealer and mainly your coach shall assist you more specifically.
